February Challenge Day 2 – Music

Day 2 of the February challenge to spread JOY!

Five pieces of music that bring Joy to my life this is hard to narrow down as music is a part of our everyday lives all day playing in our home or the car!

1. Pachelbel’s Canon in D ~ the music I walked down the aisle to meet my husband at our wedding.
2. Fly Me to the Moon – Frank Sinatra, the first song we danced to at our wedding which we still try to remember the steps to even these days and our girls laugh 🙂
3. Twinkle twinkle little star played by the hospital when Ally was born.
4. Silly Love Songs, Paul McCartney & Wings
5. Let It Go – Idina Menzel, when this first came out the JOY in hearing my girls sing along with this everyday and I would always smile at their JOY which was infectious!
6. The music soundtrack for the June Demonstration tears of joy well up every time for the whole student body

January is not yet over so it’s not too late to think what my word for 2016 will be.  Last year my word was Embrace as I posted in my blog My word for 2015.
I think I met the challenge in the year how I defined the way I would Embrace my year.
This year I want to build on my work on embracing my body and health as they are now that I am 52.  I will continue to embrace ALL the relationships in my life with my husband, my girls and other family and friends. How I want to use Renew for myself this year is to allow myself to be a focus a renewed sense of self.  I will begin by a 30-day cleanse to reconnect with what I eat and finding better ways to continue to feel good with the nourishment I take.  I plan to renew my love of reading books and read a book a month.

I want to look at how we can renew the way we are a family.  Our girls are now 9-1/2 and 7-1/2.  Although they can occupy themselves, my thought of renew is to be active and present in their lives.  I know this is something we do but I want to renew my efforts to be present.

I really believe this will be another good year for me and my family and I look forward to looking back to realize if my try to renew has taken affect.

What are you doing for yourself for the new year?
